Summary of New Testament From a Jewish Point of View Class - 1/23/2023

We had a smaller group than usual since Randy and Robin, David, and Steve could not attend, but we still had a good time studying together.  Jo Ann was “on the road,” but was able to open up the Zoom room and facilitate our study from her car!   Jo Ann, Dan, Odette, Ruth, Karen, Dave, Neil, and Merrill attended.  It was Neil’s first time at our group and it was great having him there and hearing his input.  We hope he returns again.

Below is a summary, written by Dan, of what went on:

We studied Revelation chapters 19 and 20. We all appreciate Dave reading the chapters for us. So, in these chapters we see the happy ending of the story, as long as your name is written in the Book of Life. This is distinct from the book of life that is opened and closed at the high holidays, which is in regard to those who will life and die during the coming year. Celebration of the wedding of the Lamb is contrasted with the judgement of everyone according to “what they have done”.

Next week, the End of the World. Don’t miss it!

Note from Jo Ann:  Dan means we will complete
Revelation next week. We will study Hebrews next.  We’ve been skipping around the New Testament and are not done.  After we read the entire New Testament, we’ll read and study some of the essays that are in the Jewish Annotated New Testament.
